The initial situation
The cooperation with Shisha World started in the summer, when the company was in the process of relaunching its online store. The starting point was a completely new Shopware site, which had an extremely large assortment.
The big challenge with such an extensive store is to prioritize the SEO measures optimally and, above all, to implement them.

Shisha World was founded at the beginning of 2000 and, with its early history in e-commerce, is one of the first and now largest online stores for shisha, shisha tobacco, e-cigarettes, accessories, vape & co.
In addition to its strong online dominance, the company operates more than ten stationary retail stores throughout Germany in parallel.

Our approach
The approach at the start of the project focused on filling the content gaps in the category area. The transactional leverage that an online store can use besides its product detail pages are the category pages. After successfully ranking the most important category pages, we develop an exceptionally high-authority link building strategy.
We fired these continuously over several years to keep the authority behind the Shisha World domain permanently high. Since domain authority plays a major role in the shisha niche, we were able to outrank all of the competition through qualitative link building.
In this niche, no performance marketing approaches are allowed, so the SEO competition was accordingly high. Since Shisha World has over ten local stores, we optimized for local dominance at the city level with our Local SEO strategy.
The result of the collaboration
After almost four years of cooperation, we have achieved meaningful results. Shisha World developed into the most visible and highest-traffic property on Google in the German-speaking world.
The reason for this is not only the continuous SEO strategy and implementation by us, but also the motivation and optimization of the entire Shisha World team to further develop their store top-modern and on the tooth of time to convert even stronger.
